A Vision for Change
Every groundbreaking innovation starts with curiosity. For Muros y Techos, that spark was lit in 2023 during a trip to Las Vegas, where their team first encountered cmBuilder at Autodesk University. What they saw was not just another piece of software — it was a tool that promised to change the way construction projects are imagined, planned, and delivered.
Fast forward to today, and Muros y Techos has become the first company in Colombia to adopt cmBuilder, leading the charge for digital transformation in construction.

"We are proud to be the first company in Colombia using cmBuilder. It’s helping us improve the way we plan, communicate, and execute our work — a big step forward in driving innovation in our processes."
- Manuel Hoyos Roldán - Construction Professional and Project Planning Leader at Muros y Techos

From Static Plans to Living Models
Traditionally, site logistics planning at Muros y Techos relied on BIM data only, but one that was ultimately static. As Construction Professional and Project Planning Leader Hoyos explained, the challenge was clear: “It was difficult to communicate the sequence of work and show stakeholders exactly how the project would come together.”
With cmBuilder, those challenges have been transformed into opportunities. The platform brings BIM files to life in 4D, allowing the team to simulate construction logistics before a shovel ever touches the ground. Suddenly, project plans are not just documents, they are interactive, time-based models that everyone from engineers to clients can understand at a glance.
Confidence in Complex Terrain
The first test of this new approach came with a project that was as challenging as it was ambitious. The site had steep slopes and required special soil stabilization, with the risk of serious setbacks if things were not planned perfectly.
For Hoyos, the stakes were high: “Without a clear plan, it might not have even been possible to build on that site at all.” By leaning on cmBuilder — and with hands-on support from the cmBuilder team — Muros y Techos created a detailed logistics strategy that anticipated risks, streamlined execution, and ultimately led to project success.
It was proof that digital tools are not just convenient, they are essential in solving real-world construction challenges.

Bringing People Together
But construction is not only about structures. It is about people. Architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. All working toward a shared vision. And as anyone in the industry knows, communication is everything.
“Even with experienced teams, communication can be a challenge,” said Hoyos. cmBuilder changed that dynamic. By overlaying a 3D model with project timelines, the platform makes it simple for everyone to see exactly what is happening and when. That clarity has helped Muros y Techos keep stakeholders aligned and field teams coordinated — no small feat in the fast-moving world of construction.
Tools That Elevate Projects
For Muros Y Techos, some of the standout cmBuilder features include:
• Starting from existing project data — no need to rebuild from scratch.
• Customizable logistics planning, filling in gaps and adapting to project needs.
• Drone scan integration, providing real-world context and continuous site updates.
Together, these tools do not just make projects easier to plan — they make them smarter, safer, and more collaborative.
Leading the Way in Colombia
Perhaps most inspiring is the sense of pride Muros y Techos takes in being a first mover. “We are proud to say we’re the first company in Colombia using cmBuilder,” Hoyos shared. By embracing innovation, they have positioned themselves as trailblazers, showing that Colombian construction companies can be at the forefront of global technological change.

Looking Toward Tomorrow
As for what’s next, Hoyos sees technology continuing to reshape construction — with AI, automation, and robotics taking center stage. For Muros y Techos, adopting cmBuilder is just the beginning of this journey.
After all, building is not only concrete and steel. It is about vision, innovation, and the courage to embrace change. And in Colombia, Muros y Techos is leading the way.
