In an industry where project complexity and stakeholder expectations are rapidly increasing, Bridgehead Consultancy is staying ahead by embracing cutting-edge innovation. We recently sat down with Aidan Keys, Senior Construction and Logistics Planner, and Nadine Pereira, Construction and Logistics Planner, to discuss how the firm is using cmBuilder to transform construction logistics planning. The transition from traditional 2D drawings to interactive 3D visualizations and 4D simulations is helping them deliver better results, faster.
A Strong Legacy in Construction Logistics, Now Powered by Technology
Bridgehead Consultancy, part of the Munnelly Group, has over 40 years of combined experience in bids, health and safety, and logistics planning. The team supports projects from early pre-construction stages all the way through to final handover. Their services include construction management plans, traffic management strategies, swept path analysis, on-site logistics support, and phased handover planning.
Thanks to close relationships with other Munnelly Group companies such as Munnelly Support Services (construction site logistics), Guardior (security and site logistics), and Severn Partnership (geospatial surveying), Bridgehead can deliver integrated solutions tailored to each client’s needs. With that foundation in place, the firm recognized that technology could help streamline its processes and enhance client value even further.

"With cmBuilder, we can actually give clients visual proof. It gives us the confidence to challenge logistics assumptions, and it gives the client confidence that the strategy works. There’s no ambiguity when they can see it for themselves."

Bridgehead Consultancy is proud to be working in alliance with Ctori Construction Consultants to deliver a fully integrated service offering around construction and logistics planning. By combining Ctori’s expertise in construction programming with Bridgehead’s technical logistics capabilities, we are able to offer clients a complete planning solution from concept to completion. Using Ctori’s detailed construction programmes as a foundation, we create high-impact 3D and 4D visualisations within cmBuilder, bringing project timelines and logistics strategies to life and supporting more informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Why Bridgehead Chose cmBuilder
Nadine was already familiar with cmBuilder from a previous role and knew how effective it could be. “We wanted something user-friendly and not overly time-consuming,” she explained. “cmBuilder fits that perfectly, especially with its resource library and the ability to rapidly produce both 3D visuals and 4D animations.”
Aidan also saw cmBuilder as the right fit for the business. “We do a lot of bid work with short deadlines,” he said. “Other tools like Revit aren’t built for logistics planning and are time-consuming to use. With cmBuilder, we can turn things around quickly, which is a big advantage when we’re competing for work.”
Making the Invisible Visible
Bridgehead’s transition from 2D planning to 3D and 4D modeling has fundamentally changed the way they communicate with clients. “cmBuilder gives us the confidence to illustrate and challenge logistics strategies,” Aidan said. “Sometimes an approach might sound good in theory, but when you visualize it in 3D, you can clearly see it won’t work.”
This kind of visual validation helps Bridgehead present alternative solutions more effectively. Nadine emphasized that it is much easier to communicate challenges and solutions when clients can see them clearly. “With 3D visuals, the conversation changes. Clients can immediately understand what we’re proposing. It’s more than just drawings, it’s a shared understanding.”

Success Story: Confidential Barracks Project
One project that highlights the impact of cmBuilder was a logistics bid for a confidential Barracks project in the UK. This high-profile redevelopment project involved transforming a former military site into luxury residential buildings. Munnelly Support Services, part of the Munnelly Group, needed to demonstrate how construction vehicles and pedestrians could safely share access roads with minimal disruption.
Using cmBuilder, Bridgehead created detailed 3D visuals showing marshals, pedestrian pathways, crane lift zones, and traffic management along a busy street near the site. “The client did not want to install a gantry, so our visuals needed to show how safety would be maintained without one,” said Aidan. “The level of detail we provided gave the client a high degree of confidence. Munnelly Support Services ended up winning the contract, and our work was a contributing factor.”
Supporting Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Bridgehead sees cmBuilder as an essential tool in its mission to stay innovative and continuously improve its services. “A big part of our job is to help clients tell the story of how logistics will be managed,” Aidan explained. “2D drawings can only go so far. With cmBuilder, we can show exactly how things will look and function, which creates more trust and better outcomes.”
The dynamic nature of construction sites means plans often need to change quickly. Nadine pointed out that cmBuilder allows for flexible scenario updates that reflect real-world conditions. “It mirrors the evolving nature of construction and makes it easy for us to adapt our plans as projects progress.”

"We wanted a platform that’s user-friendly and not overly time-consuming. cmBuilder fits that perfectly. The resource library and 4D animation tools help us deliver high-quality visuals fast, which is critical in bid scenarios."

What’s Next for Construction Technology
Looking to the future, both Aidan and Nadine shared their thoughts on what lies ahead for the industry. Aidan believes virtual reality will play a larger role in both planning and project execution. “Imagine being able to walk through a project virtually before it’s built. Whether for preconstruction planning or progress tracking, VR will become much more common.”
Nadine highlighted the growing role of off-site manufacturing and robotics. “With more components being assembled off-site, logistics planning becomes even more critical. Robotics will also play a bigger role in tasks like bricklaying or rebar tying, and that will require highly detailed, accurate logistics plans.”
Bridgehead Consultancy is proving that digital transformation in construction logistics is not just possible—it is already happening. By adopting cmBuilder, they have enhanced their ability to plan, visualize, and communicate site logistics more effectively. The result is faster delivery, clearer coordination, and increased confidence from clients.
