Hovercraft Builders, a new innovative general contracting company recently spun out of the prominent Western Canadian developer, Rize Alliance, is building the Parks & Yards project on King George Blvd. in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. This complex mixed-use project contains a 38-story residential tower and a low-rise office building that is being redeveloped from an existing heritage building on the site..

There are a number of site logistics and construction sequencing challenges on a multi-phase, multi-year project of this size and scale. This, combined with the need to maintain the heritage building and integrate that structure/façade into the new development, means that a significant amount of planning and communication is required to execute a project at this scale.

Hovercraft used this 4D simulation with cmBuilder to validate all site logistics decisions with regards to temporary resources, excavation sequencing, concrete pours, all the way through to visualizing the interior finishes against the schedule.
